Today, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) announced the winners of their annual National Clearinghouse Awards or “Clearies”. For the category of Creative and Original ‘I Voted’ Stickers, an Honorable Mention award was given to the City of Philadelphia’s ‘I Voted’ sticker. The sticker which was designed by Katie Fish, graduate of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, was chosen in 2020 after a highly competitive contest, conducted by the City Commissioners and the School District of Philadelphia. This was the first year that Philadelphia has submitted entries to the National Clearinghouse Awards. Submissions for the ‘I Voted’ sticker category were judged on the following:

  • Creativity – Imaginative concept and presentation
  • Originality – Demonstration of innovative design
  • Artistic aesthetics – Overall graphics and artistry
  • Local flair – Recognition of particular audience, place, or concept

“A big congratulations and thank you goes to Katie,” said City Commissioner’s Chairwoman, Lisa Deeley. “I am so proud that Philadelphia now has an award-winning sticker, that actually sticks to your clothes. We invite Philadelphians to come out and vote this primary, May 17th, to get their very own.”
